General Function Checklist

This page tests the External View tab functionality with the UCSC Genome Browser, both inside IGB and externally on the UCSC Genome Browser site.

View a region in the External View tab

1. Open the M_musculus_Dec_2011 genome.
2. Go to chr1:74,635,704-74,635,919
3. Select the External View tab near the bottom of the window.
4. Confirm that the drop down list at the bottom right has UCSC selected as the external browser.
5. Click update.

• Does the data load in the External View tab as seen above?

View a region in an external genome browser

1. Select the View menu tab at the top of the window.
2. Click View Region in UCSC Browser.

• Does a new internet browser window launch showing the region you selected in IGB on the UCSC Genome Browser site?
