Cache
General Function Checklist
Check the caching system to ensure that it is functioning as expected.
- Start by pressing the Clear All button from the Cache tab in Preferences.
- There are no entries seen in the Cache tab after pressing Clear All
- (Current Cache Size should be 0mb).
- Select the genome Arabidopsis thaliana and press the Load Sequence button.
- The following prompt appears:

- Select Yes to cache the sequence.
- After a moment, the Cache tab in Preferences should contain the following entries:
...
- Observe that the Current Cache Size is
...
- 29mb.
...

- Adjust the Max Cache Size to 15mb.
...
- The following popup should appear on the screen:
...

- Now remove the 2bit file (29mb) from the cache by highlighting the file and clicking Remove.

- Observe that the Current Cache Size has changed to
...
- 2mb.
· Select Reset Cache Preferences and ensure that Cache preferences have been reset
o Note: How do we determine if Cache Preferences have been reset, because I am not observing any confirmation that the cache preferences have been reset.
