Cache

General Function Checklist

Check the caching system to ensure that it is functioning as expected.

• Start by pressing the Clear All button from the Cache tab in Preferences.
  • There are no entries seen in the Cache tab after pressing Clear All (Current Cache Size should be 0mb).
• Select the genome Arabidopsis thaliana and press the Load Sequence button.
  • The following prompt appears:  
  • Select Yes to cache the sequence.
  • After a moment, the Cache tab in Preferences should contain the following entries:
• Observe that the Current Cache Size is 29mb.
  • Adjust the Max Cache Size to 15mb.
  • The following popup should appear on the screen:
  • Now remove the 2bit file (29mb) from the cache by highlighting the file and clicking Remove.
  • Observe that the Current Cache Size has changed to 2mb.

·         Select Reset Cache Preferences and ensure that Cache preferences have been reset
o    Note: How do we determine if Cache Preferences have been reset, because I am not observing any confirmation that the cache preferences have been reset.
