General Function Checklist

Check the caching system to ensure that it is functioning as expected.

• Start by pressing the Clear All button from the Cache tab in Preferences.
  • There are no entries seen in the Cache tab after pressing Clear All (Current Cache Size should be 0mb).

• Select the genome Arabidopsis thaliana and press the Load Sequence button.

• Verify that the following prompt appears:  

• Select Yes to cache the sequence.

• After a moment, the Cache tab in Preferences should contain the following entries:

• Verify that the Current Cache Size is 32mb.

• • Adjust the Max Cache Size to 15mb, click apply.

• • Verify that the following popup appears on the screen:

• • Now remove the 2bit file (29mb) from the cache by highlighting the file and clicking Remove.
  • Verify that the Current Cache Size has changed to 2mb.

• Adjust the Max Cache Size to 15mb, click apply.

• Observe no error.

• Select the genome Arabidopsis thaliana and press the Load Sequence button (again) and select yes (again).

• Observe the following window:
  

• Select Reset Cache Preferences and ensure that Cache preferences have been reset.
  •    Note: How do we determine if Cache Preferences have been reset, because I am not observing any confirmation that the cache preferences have been reset.
