View a region in an external genome browser

• Open IGB.

• Select the Mouse genome M_musculus_Dec_2011.

• Go to chr1:74,635,704-74,635,919

• Select the External View tab near the bottom of the window.

• Confirm that the drop down list at the bottom right has UCSC selected as the external browser.

• Click Update.

Does the data load in the External View tab as seen above?

  •  windows

• Now select the View menu tab at the top of the window.

• Click View Region in UCSC Browser.

A new internet browser window will launch showing the region you selected in IGB on the UCSC Genome Browser site.
